3 years of daily blogging

image

This past Sunday was the 3rd anniversary of this blog. That is 3 years of me writing something here every day (I think I've only missed 2 days in the past 3 years). So I have now written almost 1,100 blog posts.

Admittedly, they weren't all masterpieces. But that doesn't really matter. To do good work, I think you have to be prolific and show up every day.

The big change this year was that I "unbranded" this blog and started writing just under my personal name, as opposed to Architect This City. I got some initial pushback when I did that, but I continue to believe it was the right decision for what I am trying to achieve here.

I recently had someone ask me if there was any change in traffic after the switch. And the answer is no. If anything, traffic increased.

Over the last year, this blog received about 225,000 page views. Of course, this doesn't include the 14,000 or so people who read via email subscription and Tumblr, and never actually land on this site.

But honestly, I don't care about the numbers anymore. I used to. But not anymore. I blog because it:

- Forces me to stay current on the topics that matter to me

- Allows me to clarify my thoughts in a way that thinking alone can't do

- Holds me publicly accountable for the things I say and the stances I take

- Connects me with people I would never otherwise meet

- Exposes me to new business opportunities

- Gives me a distribution channel for discussion and sharing

- Allows me to learn from readers who know more than I do

- Feeds my desire to create things (creating > consuming)

- Allows me to exert my personal independence (I write what I want here)

- Promotes greater transparency and, hopefully, better city building

I could go on, but those are some of the most salient points.

At the same time, the world of blogging and social media is all about giving first. So I do try to curate content and posts that I think would be valuable to the readership of this blog. If there's something else you'd like to see on here, I am always open to suggestions.

Thanks for reading! Regular scheduled programming will resume tomorrow. And yes, those are my old skateboard decks hanging on the wall behind my desk.

Top Most Common Mistakes To Avoid When Starting A New Blog

Share

Have you ever thought "Why many Newbie Bloggers are still at the same position from where they had started ?" Because of these Most Common Mistakes they had made when Starting a new blog. Today in this post I will help you realize what mistake a newbie blogger generally makes when launching a new blog, It might be possible that you had also made the same mistake, due to which you are not earning money. So let's start

You Can Never Make The Same Mistake Twice, Because Second Time It's Not The Mistake It's A Choice.

Do you think Starting a Blog is Easy ?

Yes Starting a blog is very easy, you will be amazed to see the statistics that daily 1000's of blogs are started and 1000's of blog die. It is because launching a blog is very easy but maintaining it is a lot tougher and standing out of your competition is the toughest. Only the Tough guys who are ready to do Hard Work stand out finally.

As I said earlier, my major concern is to help you realize those Most common mistakes a blogger should avoid when starting a new blog. Let's have a look on them :

Mistake 1. Sitting All Day Redesigning your Blog

This is one of the most common mistake any new blogger makes generally. Even I had also made this mistake in my initial blogging days because we all want our blog to look like ShoutMeLoud, Aha-Now etc. But my Friends, these blog are standing from a long time, so they have many more quality resources as compared to what you have.

It is recommend to have an attractive blog design, but we should not give major priority to it because Blog Theme/Template is not only the one thing which decide your success or failure.

When I was new to blogging I had spent more than a week to get a perfect theme. I also wanted to make my blog stand out but at the end What I got was failure and Wastage of Time. If I had invested this precious time in creating content and doing SEO of my blog that would have helped my blog to rank higher on Search Engine.

It is not only wastage of our time but we also loose some of our readers as well because when they visit they get to see a huge change in the entire look but no updates in content due to which they stop visiting your blog and jump to some other blogs.

What to do Now ?

So before you start a new blog 1st start and gather all the necessary things you want to have in your blog design, it might be your blog templates or plugins and don't change it for a long time, to avoid wasting your precious time.

A better way to get a new quality theme is to purchase a new premium blogger template which are already SEO optimized. If you have some more money then hire a designer, to tweak your theme.

Mistake 2. Being Over Ambitious to Get Readership

Being over ambitious kills your blog instantly, I know we get excited after creating a new blog sometime we get over ambitious which lead us to do so take many wrong steps to get readers for our blog.

For Example: you start reading posts like How to Drive 1000-10000+ traffic daily to new blog. These posts have nothing new and are only used to get your email subscribed with their newsletter. I know we want to drive traffic but getting high traffic to a new blog is not a one day-night task, it takes a lot of hard work and patience.

It is natural that we too want subscribers who come and read our blog daily to get subscriber what many new blogger do is:

  • Adding popups email subscription widget.
  • They Place email subscriptions above the post
  • Place email subscription widget in middle of post
  • Placing Email Subscription widget at the bottom of the post.
  • By this you are forcing your readers to subscriber. This is the major common mistake Why your visitors are not coming back.

    What to do Now ?

Allow everything naturally, as I said above getting 1000 to 10000+ readers is not a one day task, it requires time, patience and hard work. Only add two subscription widgets on your blog one in sidebar above the fold and other below the post to convert most of the 1st time readers to your daily readers.

Mistake 3. Accepting "Content is the King"

We all have came across many articles saying "Content is King" right? I also agree that content is king and we should create quality and unique content only. But my point is only writing quality content will not bring traffic to your blog, or help you get higher rank in search engine's. There are many other things also at which you have to focus.

Why I am saying Content is not everything ?

There are many blogger who are creating immensely high quality content, but this will not get noticed by the millions of readers who are surfing blogs from Search Engines.

As you are in the field of Blogging, you have to get noticed by others so that they can get to know you and your blog exists.

    What to do Now ?

To get noticed by readers, one can do guest blogging which is the best way to do Off Page SEO of blogs and drive tons of targeted quality traffic. As well as you can drop comments on CommentLuv enabled blog related to your niche to drive traffic. I get 10% traffic to my blog is via blog commenting, so don't neglect the power of effective blog commenting.

Mistake 4. Over Optimizing New Blog with Ads

This is another most common mistake a new blogger makes, they put so many advertisements on their blog which looks odd and due to which readers don't come again.

Why a new blogger do that? It is because new blogger want to earn money as quickly as possible, due to which he place so many ads that a 1st time visitor get frustrated and leave the blog suddenly which give high bounce rate in return.

    What to do Now ?

Remember Blogging is not the way to earn money in just few weeks, except event blogging. It requires time so keep patience focus on content of your blog when starting. Then once you have sufficient content start placing advertisements on your blog but don't over optimize it with ads, so that readers don't come back. So focus on content and the ways to drive continuous traffic to your blog.

    Your Thoughts ?

These are just few of the common mistakes newbies make, there are many more mistakes which a new blogger make when starting new blog. If you have any more you can add that in comment below I would like to update this post in future as well.

How Professional Blogging is Different from Hobby Blogging

In the internet world, Blogging is now a very common word. People blog for various reasons; some do to promote their business, some do just for hobby, some do to make money, and there are many other reasons.

In this post, I am going to talk about the difference between Hobby blogging and Professional blogging.

Hobby blogging is something which you do whenever you want or have something to write and share online. It's like an online diary-writing in which you write and post anything you want regardless of niche.

Professional Blogging is something which you do to make money from your online efforts. You usually publish articles within your niche which you choose keeping its profitability in mind.

By reading the above definitions, you can easily find out the difference. Moreover, I am sharing few more things that speak about how professional blogging is different from hobby blogging.

  • Money Making: The very first thing is money making. Hobby blogging is not done for making money. It's just like writing your own diary online. Whereas, professional blogging is done for earning money.
  • Niche Selection: Hobby blogging doesn't need selecting a niche because it's like writing everything you want. I am doing hobby blogging; I would write about my daily life, about my new phone, about my health, about the movie I just watched and even more things. On the other hand, if I am a professional blogger I must choose a niche that is profitable, and content written will be within the niche.
  • SEO: Hobby blogging doesn't need SEO because hobby bloggers don't need massive They just share what they want. They don't invest time or money to get traffic. Whereas Professional blogging needs SEO because it ensures more traffic from search. And more traffic can be used to make money by monetizing the blog.
  • Competitor Analysis: You don't need to analyse competitors' blog analysis because in reality there are no competitors if you do hobby blogging. On the other hand, if you do professional blogging, competitor analysis is very important to know what they are doing to get traffic and engagement, from where they are getting backlinks, and many other things. So that you can later reverse engineer these to try to beat the competition.
  • Consistency: Hobby blogging doesn't need consistency because it is not intended to make money or make a big brand. But, professional blogging really needs consistency because without being the consistent success is far in blogging. And, if you are a professional blogger, you must want to succeed and make huge cash of your efforts.
  • Read This: Grammarly Review : Why Writers Loves To Die For This Tool?

These are a few difference between professional and hobby blogging. Both are good in their own ways. But, there are options to earn money, why not do professional blogging rather than just doing hobby blogging?

Still, it's a personal choice of doing the blogging the way they want. But, I would recommend going for professional blogging as you can cash out your efforts.

Marketing Your Brand In The Arab World: Facebook May Not Be The Best Option

You're reading Entrepreneur Middle East, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media.

In the Arab world, most companies and entrepreneurs, especially those who are not tech-focused, tend to concentrate their digital marketing efforts on Facebook, given that the social media platform enjoys over 114 million monthly usersfrom the region.

But the problem with Facebook nowadays is that with the algorithm for its News Feed changing, the reach for a Facebook page's status update is around 0.5% of the page's fans- this is the same rate Twitter provides as well. Even worse, organic reach of the content brands publish in Facebook is destined to hit zero," says Marshall Manson, Managing Director of Social at Ogilvy, one of the world's largest ad agencies. "It's only a matter of time." What this means is that all the effort and money you have put into advertising your Facebook page to collect fans is not providing a justified return on investment (ROI)- the reason for this is because Facebook essentially now wants page admins to advertise further. Marketers cannot now reach a sizable percentage of their Facebook page fans unless they advertise on each update they publish. This implies that the good old days of needing only interesting content to market your brand on Facebook are gone!

But it is important here to remember that there are other digital marketing weapons that are social in nature and that can provide any business with much better results, reach, engagement, conversion and ROI than Facebook and Twitter- these are what are called content marketing, email marketing, mobile messenger marketing, and SMS marketing.

Related: Six Growth Hacking Tips For Content Marketers

Consider email marketing for instance. According to Radicati Group, Inc., the number of email users in the world is around 2.6 billion, which is much more than that Facebook's 1.6 billion. Also, email open rate is around 20%, according to MailChimp, a figure that is much higher than Facebook or Twitter- when you send an email to your list, everyone receives that email in their inbox, and around 20% open it, if you used a trusted email marketing service provider. On Facebook and Twitter, this reach is less than 0.5%. A survey by McKinsey & Company finds that email is nearly 40 times more effective at acquiring new customers than Facebook and Twitter.

In a similar vein, mobile messengers like WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Messenger are effective marketing weapons for business to use, especially with the aid of bots. WhatsApp has around 1 billion users, with Facebook Messenger also sharing a similar user count, and Telegram has more than 100 million users. These numbers are only set to grow in this region, as smartphone penetration in the Arab world is growing, with the UAE now having 83% penetration, and Saudi Arabia having 58% in Q2 2015.

But it is SMS has the highest reach among people in the Arab world. Mobile penetration in many Arab countries exceeds the number of people living in these countries, as everyone who has a mobile has SMS enabled by default. It's also worth noting that SMS messages have an open rate is 98%, with 90% of all text messages read within three minutes of being received. But when looking at all of three above options, one must remember that email, mobile messenger and SMS marketing should be opt-in, and not mass-scale spam.

Content marketing, which consists of mainly blogging, on the other hand, is a different game altogether. Its reach depends on the type and quality of content you publish, and the marketing you perform to gain readers to each post and to the blog as a whole as well. The goal of your content marketing effort is to build regular readership- every effort you make to bring new users to your blog helps in turning them to become loyal readers, who would come back to read interesting articles on your blog or become an email subscriber, a social media follower or even an SMS subscriber, which makes them more likely to buy from you than from your competitor.

Blogging is also the best way to drive traffic from organic search engine optimization (SEO) reach. You can then use social media, email marketing and SMS marketing to drive traffic to your blog, and from your blog, you can drive more users who follow all these channels, and thus convert blog readers into paying customers and turn many of them into becoming your brand advocates, and further position your brand as a leader in your category. After all, a user who follows you on Twitter or Facebook will rarely type the URL of your page or account and visit it, but with your blog, many will do just that, and many will come back to visit as well, if you have a regularly updated blog with interesting posts. At the same time, your brand success ratio from blogging in the Arab world would be much higher than other regions of the world, since few brands in the Arab world use blogging in their marketing- and Arab users are hungry for quality content in Arabic.

To conclude, businesses and entrepreneurs who invest only on social media are missing a lot and not utilizing the hard earned currency they have, taking into account what was mentioned above regarding reach and open rate. Businesses that wish to utilize digital marketing the best way to reach the maximum possible amount of customers (and have the highest conversion rates in the most cost-effective way) should start with content marketing as the center of all their other digital marketing tools. This should be followed by marketing via SMS and mobile messengers, then email, and finally, social media.

This 25-Year-Old Cancer Patient Is Live Blogging His Death

A young man from Germany dying from a malignant brain tumour has started blogging about his day-to-day experiences.

Dmitrij Panov, from Marburg in Germany, has for the past five months blogged about the effect his terminal diagnosis has had on his approach to life, The Independent reported.

The 25-year-old was first diagnosed with a tumour in December 2011. He underwent radiation treatment and chemotherapy.

After two years of remaining cancer-free, the disease returned late last year and after unsuccessful chemotherapy, Panov decided to begin a blog entitled: "Dying with Swag".

Panov wrote his first blog on February 1, 2016.

"Hello, my name is Dmitrij Panov and I'm going to die soon. It may sound strange, but that's how it is," he wrote.

Not holding anything back about his struggle, he wrote on 23 August: "Yesterday probably the most brutal, senseless, most painful, most tired day since the start of treatment ... really, purest fatigue."

He has regularly posted about not being afraid of dying.

"Last time, I wrote that I'm not really afraid of dying. May be I should have said that I'm not really afraid of being dead. When you're dying, there's still some life in you and sometimes I think that I'm afraid of life," he wrote in May.

Doubles, bbqs, and kick off 10 a.m. Sat. for CHS Football season

"Doubles".  One word that brings on visions of anxiety, stress, sore muscles, hard hitting helmets, four hours of sprints, conditioning and cone drills as the annual football summer days into fall days carry on.

IMG_1252I was there on day one of Columbia High School's doubles sessions for football watching my son and also enjoying watching the beginning of track and field summer practices. (Seems like kids really only get J uly to be in summer mode. Come August it's back to school for sports all around town. Just saying…if you have a kid in sports, you are home bound by August for four years or more We started at Pop Warner and now hitting Junior Varsity. Four more Augusts of football blogging…)

We attended our first family barbecue tonight with the Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity teams as they kick off the new season, an annual rite of passage in the EGB football arena… tonight's barbecue was held after the last double's session and was well attended by hungry football players who were psyching themselves up for the big day tomorrow. The players and their families enjoyed delicious burgers, and a whole spread of summer salads and desserts provided by the parents.

Saturday is scrimmage day at Columbia High School starting at 10 a.m. when the JV and Varsity football teams host a round-robin scrimmage with Colonie, Green Tech, and Averill Park.

The Varsity team will play on the turf main field. The JV will play in the back practice field behind the high school.

Go Columbia Blue Devils! Have a safe, fun, and winning season!

    Is Blogging Necessary for Authors?

    Rachelle Gardner

    Blogger: Rachelle Gardner

A few years ago, the standard wisdom was that authors, both fiction and non-fiction, should have blogs in order to gather an audience and build relationships with readers. Now, not so much. As social media and online marketing have evolved, thoughts on blogging have changed. I think each author needs to carefully consider whether blogging is an appropriate vehicle for them. How do you know? You can make your decision based on:

    1. If you can do it well;

    2. If you enjoy it; and

    3. If your writing career can benefit from it.

If blogging doesn't suit you, don't spend too much time trying to make it work.

prolific writerWhy aren't blogs the appropriate vehicle for all authors?

  • The proliferation of blogs in the last ten years has made it increasingly difficult to stand out in the crowd.
  • Many authors are blogging faithfully but it doesn't seem to be increasing readership of their books.
  • Many authors seem to be blogging to an audience that's mainly other writers.
  • Many authors have a hard time figuring out what their blogs should be about (mostly fiction authors).
  • So, how do you decide if you should have a blog? Here are my thoughts:

    Have a blog if:

     1. You have something important to say and it seems people want to hear it.

    2. You understand that blogging is about offering something of value, NOT about promoting yourself and your books.

    3. You enjoy blogging (for the most part, anyway).

    4. You find blogging contributes to your creativity and enthusiasm for writing your books, rather than sucking all the energy out of you.

    5. You can find the time for blogging without it completely stressing you out.

    6. Your books have a highly defined target audience, making it easy to target your blog.

    7. Your books are topical (especially non-fiction), so that you have a clear and obvious theme for your blog.

    Don't have a blog if:

     1. You keep asking yourself and others, "But what should I blog about?"

    2. You only want to blog to promote your books and/or because you think you "have to."

    3. The whole idea stresses you out.

    4. You honestly don't have the time in your schedule to blog regularly.

    5. You've been blogging for a couple of years or more, and haven't built up to a traffic level that seems worth it.

Nowadays there are numerous alternatives to blogging when it comes to online networking and promotion.

    For example:

  • email newsletters
  • using Facebook effectively
  • leveraging all the various ways Goodreads offers for promoting books
  • learning how to attract a readership through Pinterest
  • having an effective LinkedIn profile page
  • leveraging other social platforms such as Instagram
  • Do you think authors need blogs nowadays? Do YOU blog? If so, how's it going? If not, why not?

5 Creative Ways of Promoting Your New Blog Now

Even new bloggers and marketers can have effective blog promotion

    by Amin Ghale

Do you know why 95 percent of blogs fail miserably?

    Lack of quality content?

    No!

In fact, most writers fail dramatically even with high-quality content.

Then what is the reason behind it?

…Because they simply thrive on one COMMON RULE – "Push great content and traffic will come."

And this is where most bloggers get it wrong.

Well, pushing vital content is important, it's just not enough.

    So here is the truth:

The secret sauce of building a blog audience lies in the marketing hands of a content creator.

If you are unable to sell your content in the market, you might not succeed in producing it in the first place.

Ideally, you want to use up your 30 percent of your time in creating the greatest piece you can create and 70 percent of your time promoting it.

But, is there any technique to promote the content if you are a newbie and you do not have anyone to hear you?

Now, let's get into a stepwise guide to five super creative blog promotion procedures that you can employ to acquire instant traffic.

Start Guest Posting on a Niche-Related Site

A niche-related site is a site that resembles the interest of your website.

A couple of years back, Matt Cutts bamboozled many online marketers with a post that shook many online marketers to its core. His fitting line of decay about the fall of guest blogging had many wondering if guest posting was really dead.

Fast forward to 2016… And guest posting is still a legit thing if done correctly.

In contrast to 2012, now guest posting should be more focused on generating traffic from the article you have posted.

So, you get the idea about guest posting. But how do you find a guest host that is relevant to your website?

Here is how you can find sites that allow guest posting:

Go to Google, and enter these search strings:

    Keyword + Guest post guidelines

    Keyword + Write for us

    Keyword + Be a contributor

    Keyword + Accepting Guest Post

    Keyword + Submit a post

    Keyword + Guest post wanted

Keyword + I've been featured on

Keyword + Sites I have written for

These search commands should give you a head start for your campaign.

I will give you an example. I'm the online marketing manager of a company called Web Design Sydney.

So, if I have to find sites to guest post on, I will go for a query like web design + guest post guidelines.

It will get tons of guest post prospects.

The only problem is it might be really challenging to search the sites one after another.

So, here is what you can do:

Step #1: Download an extension named "Link Clump." (Only works for Chrome.)

Here is how it works: Hold the shift button and take the cursor towards the result pages.

Left the click the mouse, and start to select the sites by dragging the cursor to the sites. This will open all the selected sites in new tabs.

But this doesn't help, as it is still unable to extract the results in an Excel spreadsheet.

Here is a simple hack you can employ:

Step #2: Click the Link Clump button you see in your browser. You will see something like this:

Promoting your new blog is easy

Step #3: Click the "Add Action" button. A little configuration box will pop up in black background.

And in the Action section choose – "copied to the clipboard."

    blog promotion

Step #4: Go back to your search engine result pages. Start the same dragging process I mentioned above and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet.

Blog Promotion is easy even if your blog is new

Make This a More Effective Tip: In the search result page, you will see a gear icon in the right corner.

Select the search options button from there. Select never choose instant prediction.

Then, next to the bottom right drag the cursor to 100 results per page. Now, instead of 10, you will have 100 at a time. It saves you time that can be used for other productive work.

Step #5: You now need to sort your guest post prospects according to its authority on the web.

For this, we use two metrics – Domain authority and Trust Flow, coined by Moz and Majestic respectively.

The only problem is this link-building software allows you only limited searches. So how do you search so many sites?

Here is what you need to do:

Use this extremely efficient bulk Domain Authority and Trust Flow checking tool.

It is connected with the APIs of both the tools. So it searches the similar data these tools produce.

(Note: When you are collecting TrustFlow data, use the root domain, instead of the URL.)

Step #6: After you have all the data, sort the sites. Domain Authority should be greater than 15.

Step #7: Let's begin the game of approach and build.

But before you pitch a site owner for guest post you need to do few things:

    ● Read about the blogger, his or her blogs, and post a few comprehensive comments.

    ● If the blogger has social media accounts, follow him or her there as well.

Step #8: Pitch them a streamlined Email.

Blog Promotion is easy even if you are a new #blogger

Why should you Email when it's clearly mentioned on the site that you are allowed to guest post?

…Because it lets you stand out from the crowd. Makes sense?

Make This a More Effective Tip: Most of the bloggers are flexible when it comes to dropping a contextual link.

    Like this one right here:

    Blog Promotion is easy

I posted one of my blog's links on a blog whose Domain Authority was greater than 30. So I got an editorial link as well as some decent

    traffic.

Use Social Media Marketing to Promote Your Blog

This is one of the most highly productive marketing strategies if done well. If you are new in the blogging field, I don't think you have many fans following after you…

However, if you already have built a nice platform in social media accounts, promoting your blog cannot be a difficult task.

Better utilize three little tricks to get a good result:

#1. Post with click-bait headline and an attractive image to harmonize with it. However, don't trick your audience to buy something that your content doesn't offer. Be natural and provide them what they desire, not what you wish them to see.

    Blog Promotion

    Source: Viralnova.com

#2. Know the demographics of your audience. Where is your audience situated? Are they from the same country or from various other countries? Which demography of people share your content the most? You need to understand the whole behavior fluctuation chapter of your audience with the posts you publish.

#3. Break down your content into different pieces or social snippets. And share them consistently the whole month. Don't go crazy in just one day.

You have to blast the same content with different titles or social snippets every single time over the month. Here is a nice little tool that can help you out with this process.

    But…

The problem most of us have is we don't have any followers, right?

I am not going to detail down on how to build your social fan base.

That probably will be for the next blog post:

However, you can have a clear-cut idea from these posts here:

Coming back to the point, what if you don't have any followers?

But you still need to promote your content.

This is what I do and even you should: (SEO is my niche.)

Leverage the power of Facebook and Google Plus Communities:

It really doesn't matter how boring your niche is, you will still find social groups where are people are sharing thoughts similar to yours.

You just need to find them.

Here is how you find them:

Head over to Facebook and search Facebook groups with your main keyword as well as shoulder-hand keywords i.e. keywords that are relevant to your niche. For this post, I would go for something like SEO, content marketing, blogging, etc.

Connect with the club and start engaging.

See if the group offers some helpful insight or it's just another group with spam all over it.

A spam page looks similar to this:

    Blog Promotion

If the page is spammed to death, I would just leave a link and leave. I do not focus more on such pages as they are worthless. But it provides some social signal. So we can still drop a link.

Our target page should be the one that engages its audience and contains occasional links.

This way you can put a link if you offer quality.

Here, the page looks like it is filled with decent SEO lovers.

    Blog Promotion is easy

Now, analyze the type of content that creates more value or attraction in the group.

So a case study looks suitable for this group.

Develop a juice-leaking case study and post it.

If this method doesn't look viable to you, instead employ these simple hacks. It doesn't assure that your thread will be read, but it can somehow make your thread look legit and strong.

At first, start with a simple thank you message to the admin of the page for the invitation.

After that, spend a couple of days asking some questions.

Remember NO LINKS to your content or you will look like a spammer.

After a week, try to connect with the people by including insightful comments.

Then, after some days, drop a link with expressive comments only where it looks like a good fit.

And, it's similar in Google groups. I've also seen links from G+ hold some positive impact on a new site rather than a Facebook group or Twitter chat group.

Go to your G+ account and start to search communities using your keywords.

Always pick up the one that has good numbers. You can't do anything with the group that has hardly any members.

Follow the similar procedure mentioned above.

Make This a More Effective Tip: With Google Plus, this nice little easy trick can work a great deal. After you drop your link, start blasting shares, comments, and +1's of the community's engaging content.

Create a Post to Lure an Influencer and Reach Out to Them

This tactic is a hidden treasure. And a highly effective method, if used systematically.

Attracting an influencer simply means developing a post targeted particularly for the influencer like boasting about how they motivate you. Or, how you hit the correct road from the wrong loop thanks to them.

But, earlier than developing any content, you have to understand who are the important people in your niche.

Here is how you can reach them:

Step #1: Search for top influencer in your niche:

Employ the tools such as Followerwonk to reach influencers of your website. This is how you use Followerwonk to get the detailed information of your influencer:

Go to Followerwonk and log in with Twitter. Place your site's major keyword or related keywords in search.

    Marketers need more promotion

Sort out the profiles according to social authority. Just hit the social authority tab once, and that's it.

Now those are the influencers you want to connect with.

Step #2: Check If they have a website (most of them do). Looks like Jeff has a website.

    Marketers use blog promotion tactics

Prepare an Excel spreadsheet and jot the website down. Now it's time to start the search for emails.

Use this email hunting guide for a quick help.

Either way, if you can't find emails, you should also check their LinkedIn profile because most influencers do put their email there.

    Blog Promotion is easy

Step #3: Study the website properly. Go through his high converting posts. Try to figure out the influencer's model of attraction when it comes to content. Also, check if any of your previous posts resembles the content your influencer shares. If not, build one.

Step #4: Reach out to them with a sneaky little click bait subject line and enticing body content.

Something like this: (Name) I Followed your Instructions, here is the RESULT.

Writing a subject title is only 10% of the finished work. And the remaining 90% lies in the body part of your email. Make sure you are talking as a genuine follower rather than a seller trying to sell his content.

Remember one thing: Influencers are busy. There is the reason why they are called influencers. Never fill the body part with your long stories. Nobody wants to hear it.

Here is an example of my email pitch to one of the brilliant names in content marketing – Neil Patel.

Promote your blog through influencer outreach

Result: Not only did I get the share on Twitter; in fact, Neil offered me something I couldn't deny.

    Blog Promotion

Make This a More Effective Tip: If you have mentioned an influencer in your content, do mention that too. Though it can't guarantee anything, it does help you prove your point.

Take your content and convert it into videos. Publish it to various video submission sites like YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion etc.

If you don't want to do a manual distribution, get help from a distribution service like Oneload.

You can get a free plan that allows you to blast two videos at a time to 10 different channels.

Similarly turn your content into infographics, Slidedeck, and PDFs. Share them to slide submission sites and doc sharing sites like:

Note: Whether you are creating videos, PDFs or slides, always work with an SEO frame of mind.

Always have keywords in your titles and description. It gives you extra ranking gold.

    Key Takeaway
