Chris Bosh blogging about beer in his time off from basketball

Miami Heat start Chris Bosh hasn't been able to play since the All-Star break due to blood clot complications, but that doesn't mean he can't stay busy.

Bosh has plenty of time on his hands, so he's clearly been able to take up other interests. This one involves (in his own words) the best beers for a barbecue. Which, I think most of us would enjoy.

"When it's hot outside, I'm all about refreshing, light brews," Bosh wrote. "If you're like me, you want a beverage that's crisp and cold, maybe even something with a touch of citrus fruit like lemon, orange or grapefruit. Beers like that are the perfect complement to barbecued meat and fresh summer vegetables."

The post really has something for everybody in it, and Bosh opens up by telling folks to just try different beers. "I understand that it can be tough to get people to sample new beers outside of their comfort zone," he wrote. "I have friends who stick with the beers they know—and that's it. But I'm slowly getting them to try different kinds because there are so many! There's nothing better than grabbing a cold one with friends while throwing some food on the grill."

Bosh also provides safety tips in his post. This guy really knows what he's doing:

Just be careful if you're eating and drinking outside. After all, when you're thirsty and the sun is beating down on you, there's a good chance you're going to drink more than one beer. But throwing back porters and hoppy beers—any of those kinds with a higher alcohol content—can come with consequences, so watch out for that.

He continues to go on and discuss different beers that go with different types of meats, discussing not only the taste of both, but options across different types of beers, such as pilsners or lagers.

If beers aren't your thing, Bosh also has a post on how to serve up a great outdoor meal. Bosh will definitely have options come retirement (we're looking at you, Food Network).
