Micro-blogging website Twitter suffers brief outage

Micro-blogging website Twitter suffers brief outage

Twitter users around the world were greeted by this screen when they tried to access the network.

Popular micro-blogging website Twitter suffered major outages across PC and mobile platforms.

An error message shows up when users go to the Twitter website, while the mobile app hangs after refreshing the feed.

The site's status page noted a "partial service disruption" at 1.27pm. The issue seems to have started 10:50 p.m. EDT Thursday. The issue was fixed, but the company did not elaborate.

Although, the full impact of the outage was yet to be known, the outage had affected users in Australian and the US.

However, when Twitter came back on again users vented their anger on the platform. This issue has now been resolved.

When visiting the desktop site, users were greeted with the message, "Something is technically wrong".

Many Twitteratti, across the world, who happen to maintain Facebook accounts have been posting regarding the outages.

Twitter is back after going down for around an hour earlier today.

Twitter service has been experiencing several disruptions over the past few months, with the one outage being reported on January 15, as well.
