One of the most important tools when it comes to vlogging is something to actually record the video. With all the different brands and camera types out there is sometimes hard to know which one is actually the camera for you. You may have cameras that have all the bells and whistles you need but doesn't match your budget. Then you have others that are a bit underpriced but they don't have all that you'll need. In this article, I will be providing a small list of the Top 4 cameras for vlogging. It will encompass detailed information on specifications and just some of my personal opinions on each camera or camcorder. This is your first investment into what can actually become a career or make you the next internet sensation on youtube on Instagram. I will do my best to mention cameras for those who are looking for a bit more than your usual vlogging tool and others that don't need much but would like to get some good quality video.
1. Canon T5iAs a Canon user, you know it only right I begin with Canon. The Canon T5i is actually an Impressive, yet inexpensive tool for your vlogging purposes. It is equipped with a touchscreen monitor and Full HD recording. Having used this camera a few times to capture some videos, I must say I was impressed with the quality I received. The body is not too bulky and could easily fit in a camera bag or knapsack without taking up too much space. Also, this camera offers to you a wide range of options when it comes to purchasing lenses in the future. After a while, you will notice where your kit lenses are not really getting the job as great as you would want it to. Therefore when the time comes to purchase lenses you'll find yourself saving a lot of money.
2. GoPro Hero 4If you are someone who finds themselves travelling a lot and doing extreme activities then this is definitely the one for you. The GoPro series action cameras were initially made for your active user who would like to vlog or document different experiences without having to worry about camera weight, water damage or even video quality. There are so many accessories out there for this bad boy it's ridiculous. The camera is ideal for almost any situation when it comes to vlogging. It can be mounted on almost anything without hassle or worry and provide great video quality.
Speaking about video quality, the GoPro Hero 4 offers video in 4K and is no bigger than the palm of your hand. How crazy is that? Apps are also available for download so you are able to control your camera from just your phone for seamless video transitions. So many times I've seen videos begin on youtube with the person pressing the record button and then stepping back from the camera. The GoPro Hero 4 carries a price tag of just about $270 on Amazon and accessories can also purchase ranging from $15 to $100 dollars.
3. Panasonic Lumix GH4When it comes to video quality and control, this Panasonic Lumix GH4 is in the top 5. It is also equipped with 4K video recording as well as Ultra HD 4k video recording. If that doesn't blow away some of your viewers then I don't really know what will. It also carried a pretty hefty price tag of around $1000 USD on Amazon. With all, it has to offer I would say that is a reasonable price tag if you really want some high-quality vlogs. Otherwise, there is a cheaper option that can provide 4K quality video without the 4K quality price tag.
4. Sony A7This is one of my personal favorites next to the Canon T5i. This camera is a monster in a small mirrorless body. It carries 1080P in Video quality with the capability of actually shooting slow motion videos in camera. this feature blew me away in regard to HD in-camera slow motion feature. It also carries a full-on HDMI port for your viewing on any television you choose. It is almost as small as a regular point and shoot camera but don't be fooled by its size.
Always gets me how my Canon is so huge and bulky and can't-do some of the things this little Sony A7 can do. The LCD monitor is also adjustable to your liking and can be pulled out moved around while shooting. As you know with great tools, often come great price tags and this one goes for just around $900 dollars. A bit cheaper than your Panasonic while still get the job done and then some.
I really hope this article has helped you to make up your mind in choosing the first tool in your vlogging journey. Until next time, Thank you for stopping by!
