A locally based online community for Bengal cat breeders, owners and enthusiasts recently received special recognition in the world of pet blogging and social media elite. Earlier this week, BengalCats.co was named a finalist in the BlogPaws 2017 Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards. BlogPaws judges chose BengalCats.co's video depicting Bengal Cats at a hair salon in Montreal in its Best Pet Video (Sponsored) category.
BengalCats.co was one of 56 finalists in 14 categories to be selected and is one of only four in the Best Pet Video (Sponsored) category to move on to the finals later this year. Entrants are judged by a panel of pet industry professionals based on expertise, performance and creativity. This is the only event of its kind in which participants are professionally handpicked according to these aspects rather than popular vote.
Founder Laurent Jaccard launched BengalCats.co in 2007 as a way to document his own experiences as a Bengal cat owner. He soon expanded beyond his initial goals to begin writing articles as well as capturing pictures and videos. Today, Jaccard shares his learning and love of Bengals via his blog site and across social media while inviting others to join in his mission of promoting the well-being of the breed.

The BengalCats.co team and fellow finalists will be present at the ninth annual BlogPaws Annual Conference to be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on May 18 through 20. A three-day event, the conference is set to take place at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel. Winners will be announced on the final day of the event at a red-carpet ceremony and will receive the BlogPaws trophy, media coverage and further industry recognition among other accolades.
