Tony Romo calls final Valley Ranch practice 'nostalgic' - Todd Archer, ESPNTony Romo, teammates wax nostalgic on final day of practice for Cowboys at longtime practice facility Valley Ranch.

"It was a little bit of a nostalgic day," said quarterback Tony Romo, who first walked into Valley Ranch in 2003. "We started off actually looking at a little Cowboys practice tape from 20 or 25 years ago. There weren't too many houses out back and a lot of fields. You just remember how many great players and practices, how many they've had through the years here, the great coaches and people who walk these halls. We're going to miss it. It's been a special place to me, obviously throughout my career."

Cowboys' best Valley Ranch memories have grown dusty - Gil Lebreton, The Star-TelegramThe Dallas Cowboys' memories of their Valley Ranch headquarters have grown dusty as they prepare to move to a new home in Frisco.

The official groundbreaking came on Nov. 29, 1983, a Tuesday, which conveniently was also coach Tom Landry's day to speak with the media. So we gathered in white tents, ate a catered lunch, and listened as team president Tex Schramm told of the state of the art facility that would soon house the Cowboys.

Cowboys close shop at Valley Ranch - Mike Florio, ProFootballTalkAs the Cowboys wrap up their offseason program, they're concluding their stay at Valley Ranch, the team's headquarters since 1985. And there will be plenty of memories shared by those who spent time there, including an entertaining walk down memory lane from ESPN's Ed Werder.

Fourth, an incident involving the aforementioned Werder, who mentions it generally in his article. It featured a fan named "Cowboy Chris," heckling the ESPN reporter by saying at one point, "I'm in your head, Werder!"

Cowboys Past & Present Get Nostalgic After Final Practice At Valley Ranch - Nick Eatman, Dallas CowboysThe Cowboys won't officially move into their new home in Frisco, The Star, until late July. However, when it comes to actual football practice, the book has now been closed at Valley Ranch, the Cowboys' team headquarters for more than 30 years.

"I showed them some video from 1992 of football practice here at Valley Ranch. It's really amazing when you look at it. The fields are in the same place, but you get a certain view of the field, a certain camera angle where it kind of pulls back, and you see that there were no bushes, no hedges there. I don't think there was a canal back there. There certainly weren't any houses. It looks like farmland. A lot of things have happened around this place since then, but the fundamentals of winning football remain the same."

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, Dez Bryant plan to work out together before camp - Todd Archer, ESPNCowboys quarterback Tony Romo and receiver Dez Bryant have plans to work out together before training camp.

"There's a schedule in place," Romo said. "We're going to be out there. And he needs to just run routes and simulate two-minute [offense]. You've got to do these little things that emulate practice and games. And the only way to do that is to get out on the football field and go do it."

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo says there's more work ahead before training camp begins - Charean Williams, The Star-TelegramTony Romo insists he has accomplished a lot this off-season, but the Dallas Cowboys quarterback won't rest on his success. He and Dez Bryant begin working together next weekend.

"There's nothing to knock the rust off," Bryant said. "It's something me and Tony established a long time ago. It's something that can't fade because that's something we had truly committed ourselves to, being on the same page. It's all about tuning in and going to work."

Tony Romo: 'I'm throwing the ball as well as I ever have' - Jon Machota, SportsDayWith Thursday marking the final minicamp practice of the offseason, the Cowboys will have roughly five weeks off until the start of training camp.

"Some of the mechanical things that I work on very hard, I'll throw and continue to do," Romo said. "I'm throwing the ball as well as I ever have. I think a lot of that is just based on years of trying to perfect your craft and get to a point where you feel very confident from multiple launch-angles throwing the football with people around your feet, in front of you, you can't step into it, you can, sliding left, having to move a little to the right, throwing across yourself, throwing out in front, drag routes, people who are stationary."

Forgotten Harvey Martin Was One Of The Early Pass Rush Greats - Dawn Macelli, Blogging The BoysMost of his sacks came prior to the NFL officially recognizing the effort, but that never stopped Martin from dominating opposing passers or the Cowboys "unofficial" team records.

Few of us doubt that shortly after DWare finally hangs up his cleats for the last time the Jones family will ensconce #94 in the Ring Of Honor, and that honor is certainly due to Mr. Ware. The tragedy is that the player that he chased for so long will most likely not be in that elusive club.
