On Friday, the actor's publicist revealed that his wife, Michelle McNamara, has passed away at the age of 46. The news was made public by Oswalt's publicist.
She founded her website, True Crime Diary, after becoming interested in cold cases.

Dan Steinberg/AP She was married to Oswalt for the past decade. The cause of death has not been released. Michelle graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received a master's degree in creative writing from the University of Minnesota.
In a 2007 online interview, McNamara said she started the blog nearly as a lark. In addition to blogging and podcasting on the subject, she also appeared on the Investigation Discovery series A Crime to Remember. "I wanted to get more involved in the cases that were fueling my own curiosity", she said. "It feels like the difference between looking forward or looking back", she added.
Now, she has left behind her husband Oswalt, and seven-year-old daughter, Alice.
