Kay Burley mocked by Twitter after thinking Malcolm Muggeridge had died AGAIN

Sky News anchor Kay Burley mistakenly tweeted her condolences about the death of Malcolm Muggeridge - who died 26 years ago - rather than Cliff Michelmore.

It follows another faux pas by Kay made past year after the Paris terror attacks, when she announced the atrocities had left a dog with "sadness in his eyes".

"RIP Malcolm Muggeridge", she wrote on the micro blogging site, along with a black-and-white photo of him.

It appeared that someone else was lightly defending Kay, tweeting: "It's all very well mocking Kay Burley but did everyone know poor old Malcolm Muggeridge had passed?"

"RIP Charlie Chaplin", responded Jack Murray, "RIP Napoleon" added Dave Noisome, "RIP Æthelred the Unready", said Ben Gazeley, and "RIP the dinosaurs", wrote Paul Hancock.

And plenty of people observed the irony of a newsreader being so late to the story, with one writing: "Glad to see your finger is still on the pulse of current affairs". "Some of you more polite than others, as ever".
