Her husband and music partner Rory Feek, 50, took to his blogging account and shared the news of her death. They met at a songwriters night at Nashville's famed Bluebird Cafe, married in 2002 and lived on a farm in rural Pottsville, Tennessee, about 45 miles south of Nashville.
