"World's most wanted drug trafficker" may have been located with the help of a rookie tweet that his son posted.
A drug lord, Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman who escaped from Mexico's most secure prison has allegedly been located in Costa Rica after his son accidentally posted a picture of them on the micro-blogging site Twitter without removing the location tag, Russian television network RT reported on Saturday.
His son, Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, 29, who often tweets about the father had posted a picture of them at a restaurant in Costa Rica without removing the location tag on Monday. This rookie mistake of not removing the location tag has helped authorities to check Costa Rica for the drug lord, RT said.
This isn't the first time that the drug lord, also considered to be the world's most wanted drug trafficker, has escaped from prison. He was initially captured in 1993 with a sentence of 20 years at a jail in Puente Grande. From where he is said to have escaped in a laundry cart in 2001. He was imprisoned in February 2014 after his second escape. And his recent escape was through a 10 metr-deep underground tunnel which began from his cell.
It is said that all his escapes have been possible due to bribery. Officials were given almost $50 million as bribe for his second escape, the report said.
Although this means heavy punishment for the officials involved with the drug lord's escape, the Mexican government is still offering $3.8 million as reward for those who help in catching him.
