Facebook (FB) is giving its Facebook Notes feature an overhaul in new tests.
Facebook Notes is being redesigned so that it has a friendlier appearance that could draw in more bloggers. The update includes a clear headline and byline, which also includes a time stamp. A full cover image can also be added to each note, reports Wired.
Only certain users have access to the new Facebook Notes. The new design helps the blogging tool feel different from a normal status update, which is how the old notes appear. users can also still tag friends in notes and choose who to share them with, Wired notes.
The decision to update Facebook Notes is likely part of the company's efforts to have all forms of content published on its website. It recently launched a feature called "Instant Articles" that allows media websites to publish articles on Facebook for a cut of the advertising revenue, reports Fortune.
