Iceland's 'helpful' Ministry of Foreign Affairs has tweeted a statistcal explanation that will help you understand the selection process of the national side. See if you can read it without laughing, after all, it is in the running for the funniest tweet of Euro 2016
Want to know who the giant killers Iceland picked their squad of 23 players who left the world in awe and England stunned?
Curious to know how could Iceland pull off one of the most astonishing results in the history of European football after they knocked England out of the Euro 2016 finals?
The tiny nation of just 3,30.000 Icelanders beat a nation of 54 million 2-1. They next face hosts France in the quarter-finals.
Iceland's Kolbeinn Sigthorsson celebrates after scoring his side's match-winning second goal during the Euro 2016 round of 16 soccer match against England at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, France, on Monday. Pic/AP/PTI
But before they take on the French, we need to know how are the likes of Aron Gunnarsson, Hannes thor Halldorsson, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Ragnar Sigurdsson came to make the team. (Note that the goalkeeper's name has Thor in it. Unbeatable?)
Interestingly, they have beaten the Netherlands during the qualification campaign. So underestimate them at your own risk.
Well, Iceland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' tweet will help you understand the maths behind the selection process of this team of world beaters.
In what is undoubtedly one of the funniest posts of Euro 2016, the country's MFA posted a graphic on the micro-blogging site describing the process of elimination involved in selecting the most able 23 players for the national team.
HERE'S THE TWEET. AND IT WILL LEAVE YOU ROFL

It's 2020, four years from now. The campaign is under way to succeed the president, who is retiring after a single wretched term. Voters are angrier than ever—at politicians, at compromisers, at the establishment. Congress and the White House seem incapable of working together on anything, even when their interests align. With lawmaking at a standstill, the president's use of executive orders and regulatory discretion has reached a level that Congress views as dictatorial—not that Congress can do anything about it, except file lawsuits that the divided Supreme Court, its three vacancies unfilled, has been unable to resolve.
On Capitol Hill, Speaker Paul Ryan resigned after proving unable to pass a budget, or much else. The House burned through two more speakers and one "acting" speaker, a job invented following four speakerless months. The Senate, meanwhile, is tied in knots by wannabe presidents and aspiring talk-show hosts, who use the chamber as a social-media platform to build their brands by obstructing—well, everything. The Defense Department is among hundreds of agencies that have not been reauthorized, the government has shut down three times, and, yes, it finally happened: The United States briefly defaulted on the national debt, precipitating a market collapse and an economic downturn. No one wanted that outcome, but no one was able to prevent it.

Elspeth Reeve at The New Republic laid out how a group of mostly female fans have become bloggers, then in turn become the most knowledgeable people in the game. The "gymternet" is a network of sites and social media streams that connect people to the type of coverage they want if they're more than channel-flipping viewers. In many cases, fans are frustrated with the casual sexism big network coverage comes with:
When a gymnast was injured right before the 2008 Olympics, for example, NBC commentator Al Trautwig said, "It's like having a tear in your wedding dress right before you walk down the aisle." At the 2012 Games, he described Russian gymnasts as "divas" who are "temperamental" and exhibit "petulance to criticism."
A podcast called GymCastic by Orange County fan Jessica O'Beirne, who works as a librarian, has been pulling big names since its inception:
Her very first guest was NBC commentator Tim Daggett, who was well aware that his network is unpopular among gymnastics junkies. "When you see a broadcast on television," Daggett confessed, "it's not being put together for a group like you guys. … NBC is a huge corporation, and it's a business, and they're trying to make money." The way to do that, he said, is to pick "the most dramatic stories out there" and tell them over and over again, "because it's what the casual viewer wants."
O'Beirne and other "amateur" reporters like her want more, and are thus taken more seriously by people involved in the actual sport. Olympic gold medalist McKayla Maroney went on GymCastic to announce her retirement from gymnastics, and felt comfortable enough to relate another anecdote about her experience as a female athlete. She said she was threatened by her coaches after she broke her toe; they told her, "Don't limp; smile, make sure you just look like you're fine... Because that's the only way you're going to stay on this team."
Another popular site actually titled The Gymternet was begun by Laura Hopkins, who had previously worked in a law firm and has now been hired by NBC as a gymnastics researcher for their digital broadcast team in Rio for the Games.
She told Reeve that her success came from the network of women and parents of upcoming gymnasts who saw what she was doing. Soon The Gymternet developed into a site that "breaks news and provides injury reports, live blogs and analysis of competitions, interviews with elite gymnasts, and critiques of leotard fashion."
Anecdotes like Maroney's about smiling through her pain are less and less acceptably relegated to the shadows: the audience for gymnastics coverage won't settle for it. You can and should read the rest of Reeves article here.

Premarital sex had a "tremendous negative psychological and physical impact on girls", said the High School Sex Education book.
First published in 2004, it came to light recently after a teacher posted passages of the textbook on Weibo.
Chinese netizens quickly caught on to it, accusing it of double standards.
The textbook, by 21st Century Publishing Group, also added that "girls do not increase the love they receive from boys by sacrificing their bodies, but rather are seen as 'degraded' by their 'conquerors'.
"As a result, sexual relations can cause women to lose love."
Speaking to state media outlet the Global Times, the publishing group said the wording was not insulting and pointed out that words like "degraded" were printed with quote marks.
But Wei bo users have reacted angrily.

"This makes me sick. As a man I can't stand this," said another user. "Since you want women not to have premarital sex, then please tell all boys to do the same."
Another said that the solution to the problem would be to "lock your women up, then they wouldn't be called cheap".

The 29-year-old, five-time FIFA world footballer of the year was left devastated after suffering yet another traumatic near-miss with Argentina in the Copa America Centenario on Sunday. The suddenness of his departure though startling, begins to make sense when the context of his decision is taken into consideration.
Based on the same argument, cricket fans from Pakistan took to micro-blogging platform to ask when all-rounder Afridi who resumed playing for his national cricket team despite retiring from the international cricket several times will finally hang up his boots.
Former skipper hinted at his announcement after Pakistan's disastrous performance in Asia Cup and ICC World T20. But the cricketer hasn't spoken about his retirement ever since. The 36-year-old Afridi made his international cricket debut way back in 1996 against Kenya in an ODI in Nairobi. So far he has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 96 T20Is.

A majority of the handful of blogs on Goa contain information and tips for tourists visiting the sunny state. Then, there are some that are personal musings about all things Goan, while others are ramblings on the current socio-political scenario.
But now, the fairly new trend of fashion and lifestyle blogging is slowly gaining momentum. Many young bloggers are speaking about footwear and clothing brands, trendy beach attire, make-up, skin care, etc, besides the regular mix of food, culture and lifestyle.
As local readers have very few Goa-relevant lifestyle blogs to refer to, these are perceived as treasure troves of information for many.
"Be it the music, culture, architecture, people or places, there is a lot to explore in Goa as the state keeps reinventing itself every season. I am sure to bring all of it to the Goan public," Navya Ramesh says. Coming from a fashion brand management background, Ramesh has worked with online fashion portals like Wooplr and Myntra. She is also the brains behind the blog 'Sensualists ONLY', which showcases leisure and resort fashion and lifestyle.
For Ramesh, blogging is too mundane to be called a profession and too trivial to be termed a hobby. "I have always been interested in the aesthetics of dressing and how it affects the psychology of the person and those around him/her," she explains.
Flexcia D'Souza's obsession with trendy clothing, travel and trysts with make-up, beauty and street style got her noticed and bagged her an invitation to the recently-concluded India Beach Fashion Week (IBFW), at Miramar.
"My blog started off as a personal style, beauty and lifestyle portal that serves as an online visual diary of my day-to-day life. I experiment with my look and style, love exploring new things and deconstructing fashion and beauty from the runway, if only to simplify it and bring it to the common people," D'Souza explains. Her blog also features a series of posts related to food and travel.
Apart from this, D'Souza is a fashion writer for websites, an Instagram blogger and a social media influencer, having worked on several campaigns with fashion brands in India.
Saligao girl Jade D'Sa gained immense popularity on social media with her 'Oh-so-Goan' posts on her blog named 'That Goan Girl'. The title not only has piqued people's interest outside the state but has also got her attention from the Goan diaspora.
"I used 'That Goan Girl' as a sort of online diary during my travels to Malaysia and Canada, and when I got back, I filled it with stories on food and lifestyle," she says.
Rhea Gupte started FUSS three years ago as a space to share her thoughts, personal style and editorial projects. The objective was to work on something she is passionate about and to convert it into a full-time job. "I work on FUSS full-time in the capacity of a creative director, conceptualizer, stylist, writer and model," she said.
Social media, without a doubt, goes hand-in-hand with blogging. "My social media channels are an extension to the blog wherein I portray my perspective of the beautiful world around me," said D'Souza. Ramesh, too, firmly believes that for a lifestyle blog, an Instagram account is crucial.
On the type of networking or social media strategy used, these young women believe that good content and consistency are the mantras to enhance traffic to their respective blogs.
"That's the best way to grow; to earn each follower and maintain a relationship with them, rather than to amass tonnes and have no idea who they are," D'Sa opines.
Where pictures are concerned, some bloggers have mastered the art of making things look good on a cellphone cameras, while others have their own photographers.
The journey has brought them face-to-face with a number of interesting personalities. D'Sa met Lord Jeffrey Archer, Vikas Khanna and the finalists of Masterchef Australia 2014. Gupte, on the other hand, has met power blogger Nicole Warne, at Fashion Week in Australia. D'Souza met a host of film stars and models during her IBFW stint.
But, as simple as it may appear, the art of blogging is actually quite a Herculean task. Speaking on the biggest challenge about running a lifestyle blog, Ramesh says that getting noticed and standing out is the biggest challenge, but with originality, this can be overcome.
A lot of people also think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. D'Sa, however, stresses that this could not have been further away from the truth.
"If you want to make money through a blog, you need to write content that generates traffic, convert visitors to subscribers, build trust and sell products/services that you're so confident of. You put your reputation on the line for it. It looks easy on the surface, but each step is extremely complex. It takes months, even years, to get returns on the time you invest," she says.
Similarly, Gupte feels it takes a lot of hard work to establish credibility and a brand with a point of view.
"Approach it intelligently and understand your own skills and how you can lend them to a brand, publication, or client to create value for them out of your services," she advises.
While this exciting venture has been keeping several young bloggers on their toes, the gratification that comes with it makes it all worthwhile.
"It's insanely challenging, but so much fun. And when people come up to me and say, 'Hey, I follow your blog', it makes it all worthwhile," D'Sa concludes.
It's challenging and keeps them on their toes, but is gratifying nonetheless. A few young lifestyle bloggers share with STOI their journey to the spotlight
